The Web has connected people in new and innovative ways and will contiue to evolve well into the future. The result is a masssive proliferation of content and new forms of communication, e.g., shared music, pictures, maps, digital libraries, and social networking. The device formerly known as the cell phone is becoming a mobile personal assistant, where Telephony is just one of its features. Advent of technologies such as Cognitive Radios, Software Defined Radios, enable easy reconfiguration and consumption of bandwidth suitable to the needs of the service being consumed, while significantly lowering the cost of operations. These global trends foretell the need to move rapidly from merely delivering access to online web applications, to end-to-end mobile user experiences via services that are context sensitive and location aware. The biggest difference between today's online service and the mobile service of the future is the need to move from largely context-less mobile communications to context aware, integrated mobile communications.
